This is a stunning and beautiful watch that was hand-built and finished by a student at the Ecole D'Horlogerie Le Locle, located in the Jura mountains of Switzerland. These school-made watches represent the watchmaking student's skill and dedication ! Purchased from the widow of the original owner, who was a lifelong watchmaker, this piece from the 1960s stands as a testament to the watchmaker's pride and skill. This so-called "School Watch" is a triple date chronograph with a moonphase, housed in a 36mm steel Spillmann case with hexagonal screw-down caseback and pump pushers. This exquisite timepiece features a silver dial with gold-colored "pyramid" shaped indexes and a moonphase indicator that has developed a wonderful tropical brown hue over time. The watch is powered by a ni hand-finiscely hed Valjoux 88 movement, showcasing traditional high-end finishing techniques like Côtes de Genève, chamfering ; finishings usually reserved for the most exclusive timepieces. The movement has been fully checked and regulated by our watchmaker.
